if you ever wonder whether i am more like my mother or father, i would say, it would be clear to see that i am more like my dad. He has laid a solid foundation of character and personality in my life. Ayah is a kind man, more outspoken, hilarious , high spirited, positive minded, laughed so hard when he found something funny. and his striking character is, he is a work-a-holic. He will go out for work before the sun came up and worked until after dark. ok, i would say, i only inherited 10% of his traits.
My dad is obviously more vocal and loves to share his thoughts. Growing up in the 1950's, ayah would continuously discuss around the dinner table about our life future plan. My dad constantly reinforced the importance of higher education to his family. He was brought up from a tough background, atuk and wan were rubber tapper in Gemencheh. He used to tell us stories on our way to kampung Rokan about how life was pretty tough during that old time. Even though we heard about the stories over and over again, it never fails to boost my motivation to be better. And it is always fun to hear his tales the way he remembers them.
sebelum fly. adoi ayah suka wt gmbar cemni ==' |
i would say i'm a bit shy to express my feelings to my dad. I've caused him so much of troubles when I was a teenager, which i'm not proud of doing it. I wish i could rewind time and fixed things as the way I've wanted. But, Ayah is always there fixing things that I've messed up with. He was my saviour haha. kesian ayah!
Tulah, sape suro dulu nakal2 *cubit diri sendiri*
I am so sorry for my misbehave ayah.
Ayah worked in education field almost 3 decades. If i am not his daughter or just an outsider, i would still say that ayah is a true teacher. Now he is the Principal of SMK Rahmat in Melaka. He devoted himself for every school he worked in. He'll make sure that he would be the first person to be at school early in the morning. So everyday he woke up at 5, and start driving at 6am, no matter how tired he was the night before. He used to bring us to his school late at night, and asked our opinion of what can be done for the betterment of the students. Well of course, we're not the experts, but it really shows his enthusiasm in what he is doing. One of my friend's brother told me that Ayah was a well-respected man, and he was known for his strict discipline enforcement at school. Recently, i received his text saying that he was rewarded for his excellent performance award. Alhamdulillah. Congrats ayah!!
At home, ayah is so strict on us when it comes to solat, studies, and doing house course.
I used to wake up quite late during school holidays or weekends (tipu la kalau korang tak pernah buat) lol. But whenever i heard he said 'KAKCIK,BANGUN!' i will jump off the bed like a ninja!! LOL. yeah i know its like a magic. His deep-sharp voice is my best alarm to wake me up. kat sini pasang 6 alarm pun tak menjamin bangun ke tak. haha
there are so many things, wonderful things that ayah did and thanks is just not good enough to repay all the things he has done for our family. Like tiny seedlings you have cared, pampered and loved us. A support in hard times and an all time inspiration, you've taught us the essence of life.
and today, on your 55th birthday, 18th May 1958, the day that my proudly father, Zulkapli Othman was born.
Happy birthday ayah!
